About us
We build sites for any kind of business, from shops and contractors to nonprofits, artists and practices. Each one is designed around how that business actually runs.

Co-owner, lead builder
I'm an entrepreneur too. I run After Hours Tech and Skills for Children, a free resource site for families that I built and run myself, so I know what it's like to need a website that works for you, not one more thing to manage.
I also bring more than 27 years of social work, from one-on-one work to changing how whole systems run. That taught me to listen first, see both the big picture and the small details, and explain things in plain language. I handle your build from first call to launch.

Co-owner, design and consulting
Julia brings extensive experience in small and medium business operations, along with graphic design and social media expertise. She helps with design, media and consultations for entrepreneurs.
Julia is a native Spanish speaker and joins our Spanish-language consultations.

Each site below is shown on a computer and on a phone. Every one is designed around its subject, not picked from a template, and all three are fast, secure static sites with nothing to maintain.

This site, afterhourstech.dev, is built the same way, with an editor behind the scenes so changes go live without a developer.
What It Takes
Here is everything under the surface, in plain language. On a template service, all of this is bundled into the monthly price. With me, it is handled for a small monthly fee, and you only deal with the parts you want to.
Your address on the internet, like yourbusiness.com. You register it in your own name, usually for around $10 to $20 a year, so it always belongs to you.
A computer that is always on and always connected, so your site loads at any hour of the day. This is the part I run for you.
The padlock in the browser. Without one, browsers warn visitors that your site is not safe. I set these up for you, and they renew on their own.
Software ages. Security fixes, expiring certificates and broken links all need someone watching. This is the part people forget until something stops working.
When something looks wrong, you contact the person who built your site, not a support queue.
Delivery
Pick the setup that fits how you want to run your site.
Build fee only, with no monthly fee to me. I hand over the finished site and you host it wherever you like. The editor is not included, because its sign-in system runs on my hosting.
Build fee plus $10 to $15 a month. Your site goes live at an address on my domain, so there is no domain to buy. It is the quickest way to get online.
Build fee plus $10 to $15 a month. Your site lives at yourbusiness.com. You register the domain in your own name and point it to my system, and I handle the rest.
How It Works
We talk about your business, your goals and what you need. No commitment, and you get a clear quote before anything starts.
Send colors, fonts, photos and links to sites you admire. I turn them into a design direction for your approval.
You review a working version and tell me what to change before anything goes live.
I put the site online, on its own address or yours, and from then on I keep it running.
FAQ
Builds start at $149. After a free 30-minute consultation I will give you a clear quote for your project, with no commitment. Hosting is $10 a month for a static site or $15 a month for a site with the editor.
They are good tools if you enjoy building your own site and want everything in one dashboard. I am a better fit if you would rather have someone design it for you, want it to look like your business instead of a template, and prefer a low, predictable monthly cost.
Yes. For the build fee alone I can hand over the finished site files and you can host them anywhere. The editor is the one exception, because it relies on my hosting.
No. You can launch at yourbusiness.afterhourstech.dev. When you want yourbusiness.com, you register it in your own name, usually for around $10 to $20 a year, and I connect it.
On a site with the editor you can change text, photos and prices yourself. Anything else is $50 an hour, billed in 15-minute increments.
Many sites simply link to a store or booking tool you already use, such as a Printify or Etsy shop, a Cal.com booking page or a Stripe payment link. Larger needs, like custom web applications, are quoted separately.
You contact me directly. Keeping your site online and working is what the monthly fee covers.
You do not have to start over. I work with WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy and most of the other site builders, and I am happy to help with the one you already have.
“You've completely captured how I hoped to present my work and I cannot thank you enough!”
